deekte Privacy Policy
deekte (دیکته) is a Farsi keyboard for iOS with built-in voice dictation. It is anonymous by design: there is no name, email, account, or login. This policy explains what data deekte processes, what it does not collect, and how dictation audio is handled. It is written to match our App Store "App Privacy" disclosures.
1. What deekte collects and processes
- Anonymous device identifier: a random UUID is generated on your device and stored in the iOS Keychain. It is used only to issue access tokens and to enforce the free-tier limit. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any personal identity.
- Voice / audio: the microphone is used only while you are actively dictating (after you tap the mic). Audio is streamed in real time over an encrypted (TLS) connection to deekte's backend, which relays it to our speech-recognition provider for transcription. Audio is not stored on deekte's servers — it is processed transiently to produce text, and the resulting text is returned to your device.
- Transcribed text: the text is returned to your device and inserted into your current app. deekte does not store the content of your dictations or what you type on its servers.
- Usage data: a running total of dictation minutes used is stored (keyed to the anonymous device ID) solely to enforce the free-tier limit.
- Purchases / subscriptions: purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store. deekte's server receives Apple's signed transaction receipt to verify an active subscription. No payment card or billing information is ever sent to or stored by deekte — Apple handles all payment.
2. What deekte does NOT collect
- deekte does not log your keystrokes or collect the text you type with the keyboard.
- No advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no selling of data.
- No name, email, contacts, location, or account.
3. Keyboard "Full Access"
iOS requires you to "Allow Full Access" for the deekte keyboard so it can send audio for transcription and hand the resulting text back to the app you're typing in. Full Access is used only for the dictation feature. deekte does not transmit your keystrokes.
4. Third-party subprocessors
deekte relies on the following providers to operate the service:
- Deepgram, Inc. — speech-to-text transcription provider; dictation audio is sent for transcription. See Deepgram's privacy policy.
- Google Cloud Platform — backend hosting, located in the United States.
- Apple — App Store distribution and payment processing.
5. Data retention & deletion
The anonymous device ID and usage-minutes total are retained to operate the free tier. Because there is no account, you can request deletion of your device's data by emailing dev@dbay.dev with your request.
6. Children
deekte is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. The App Store age rating is 4+.
7. Security
All network traffic uses TLS encryption, and access tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above accordingly.
